For the 2017 model year, there is only one engine powering all of the Wrangler trims – the award-winning Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 24-valve VVT engine. It generates 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, which is plenty to go up steep inclines or tow a maximum of 3,500 pounds. Built with “Variable Valve Timing” (VVT) technology, the engine’s air intake valves have been programmed to improve the vehicle’s overall performance.
